Spectral DNC is a 5% minoxidil solution that includes nano-sized minoxidil molecules. These smaller minoxidil particles are meant to be absorbed more easily. Spectral DNC also includes a compound called Aminexll SP94 which is a molecule patented by L'Oreal advanced research. It is said that Aminexll SP94 helps regrow hair on the entire head. Spectral DNC lotion combines the minoxidil particle as well as the Aminexil particle into teeny, tiny organic micro-spheres. These micro-spheres are approximately 200 times smaller than human cells. This allows Spectral DNC to penetrate completely into the skin and to release its active ingredients over a 15 hour period. The manufacturers of Spectral DNC claim that Spectral DNC is absorbed more easily and is thus more effective than the equivalent 5% minoxidil solution. They also warn that because Spectral DNC delivers more minoxidil to the skin that incidents of side effects (itching and redness) are more common. In a rare move, the makers of Spectral DNC claim that it is effective for the top of the scalp (the vertex) like Rogaine as well as for receding hairlines. Rogaine does not make any frontal baldness claims.
