Away in a Manger is a crocheted Christmas nativity scene. The 13' three-dimensional figures include The Holy Family (Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus); Angel; The Wise Men (Melchior, Caspar, and Balthazar); Shepherds (3); and Animals (Camel, Lamb, and Donkey). The figures are crocheted using worsted weight yarn and a size F (3.75 mm) hook. Some feature metallic gold heavy braid, small amounts of embroidery floss, and other accents. The people and angel figures are each stuffed with a plastic foam cone (4' high by 2 1/2' diameter. Most figures are approximately 6' tall (sizes range from 2' high to 7' high).
