Additional support comes from the antioxidant vitamins A and E and the antioxidant mineral zinc. Alpha-lipoic acid is a potent fat- and water-soluble antioxidant that is able to regenerate other antioxidants, such as vitamin E. Spirulina, a form of blue-green algae rich in beta carotene and vitamin E, enhances protective antibodies without enhancing those associated with allergies IgE antibodies.
