The Cyrus is large club size chess set with unique and elegant features extending Staunton design well beyond the ordinary. This beautiful Staunton chess set is named after Cyrus the Great, King of the Persian Empire that conquered both the Median and Babylonian empires. All of the pieces are unique in their shape and have detail unlike any other Staunton chess set. The knight is artistically designed with elegant and intricate features that are meticulously hand carved including the eyes, nostrils, mouth, teeth and a flared mane. The king is 4.4' tall and features an ornate finial that is unique from any chess set in our collection.
