This HARRY TRUMAN SIGNED 7.25X10 LETTER ON WHITE HOUSE LETTERHEAD MATTED JSA #X74189 has been certified authentic. This is a signed letter as President on White House letterhead, written on February 1, 1946. Truman accepts the resignation letter from William Adams Delano from his position as board member for the National Capital Park and Planning Commission. Heaping praise upon Delano for his contributions, Truman writes, in part: 'Your seventeen years of service as a member of the commission have been notable. Indeed for almost a quarter of a century you have served Washington as a member of the Fine Arts Commission, the board of Architectural Consultants, and the Park and Planning Commission. To assess the value of your service to your country and its Capital one needs but to look around the city of Washington. On all sides we find noble works whose artistic merits reflect the fine taste and judgement which you have exercised.' Handsomely signed at the conclusion by the President in black fountain pen ink. Matted along with a distinguished portrait print of Truman. The matting measures 15x19. It will include the JSA numbered hologram and matching Certificate of Authenticity.
