Director Mariko Tetsuya ( Destruction Babies ) and star Ikematsu Sosuke ( Killing ) worked together in 2018 for TV Tokyo's adaptation of Arai Hideki's manga Miyamoto kara Kimi e about the professional and romantic follies of a young, hot-headed stationery salesman. The two return in 2019 for the film adaptation Miyamoto . Ikematsu is again the bumbling but principled Miyamoto Hiroshi, and Aoi Yu is the object of his affections, the independent-minded Nakano Yasuko. The two are happily in love, but a certain ordeal will put their relationship to the greatest test. Besides the two leads, Iura Arata joins the film as Yasuko's ex and Matsuyama Kenichi and Emoto Tokio reprise as Miyamoto's colleagues.
