Take Off director Kim Yong Hwa explores life and death in the action-packed fantasy epic Along with the Gods . The big-budget blockbuster is based on Joo Ho Min's hugely popular same-titled three-episode web comic, which is inspired by the Joseon dynasty Buddhist painting Ten Kings of Hell . The first installment of the two-part adaptation focuses on the Afterlife episode about a man's journey to hell, where the deceased are tried in different courts. Cha Tae Hyun ( My Sassy Girl ) takes the lead role of an upstanding firefighter who faces trials in the afterlife world along with three grim reapers played by Ha Jung Woo ( Tunnel ), Ju Ji Hoon ( Asura: The City of Madness ) and Kim Hyang Gi ( Thread of Lies ). The star-studded film also includes Lee Jung Jae ( Operation Chromite ), Kim Dong Wook ( Take Off ), EXO's D.O. ( Unforgettable ), Lim Won Hee ( The Advocate: A Missing Body ), Lee Joon Hyuk ( House of Bluebird ) and Kim Soo Ahn ( Train to Busan ). Kim Ha Neul ( Don't Forget Me ) and Kim Hae Suk ( The Handmaiden ) make special appearances. Firefighter Kim Ja Hong (Cha Tae Hyun) dies while trying to save a little girl from a blaze. Grim reapers Kang Rim (Ha Jung Woo), Deok Chun (Kim Hyang Gi) and Hae Won Maek (Ju Ji Hoon) then escort Ja Hong to the afterlife world ruled by King Yeomra (Lee Jung Jae). In order to be reincarnated, the fireman needs to pass seven court trials in 49 days and prove that he has lived a life free of sin. Though grim reapers are not allowed to interfere in the mortal world, they are inevitably drawn into earthly affairs due to the death of Ja Hong's brother Soo Hong (Kim Dong Wook), who turns into a vengeful spirit and wreaks havoc in both the worlds of the living and the dead. This edition comes with a 32-page booklet , a character card set , a postcard set and special features including audio commentary, special video, character video, director's notes, behind-the-scenes footage, production documentary, still gallery and trailer.
