Director Yamada Yoji reunites with Yoshinaga Sayuri, the star of About Her Brother and Kabei - Our Mother , for the poignant drama Nagasaki: Memories of My Son set in postwar Nagasaki. The veteran actress plays a midwife who lost her son three years ago during the atomic bombing. On the day she tells herself it's time to let him go, her son suddenly appears again to reminisce about their times together. Arashi member Ninomiya Kazunari ( Letters from Iwo Jima ) won Best Actor at the 39th Japan Academy Prize for his portrayal of the son.
