Legend has it that when someone dies by hanging, the rope used becomes cursed. To lift the curse, a ritual is carried out in which the rope is burned and placed into the sea. This rope ritual is still practiced in Taiwan today. Helmed by TV director Liao Shih Han ( My Goddess ), Taiwan horror thriller The Rope Curse draws on the taboo rope ritual tradition and recent urban legends to create a blockbuster scarefest. TV station employee Jia Wei (Jason Tsou, Black & White ) earns money on the side as an internet personality who livestreams strange events. Having successfully proposed to his girlfriend Shu Yi (Kimi Hsia, Zone Pro Site ), he needs to make more money for the wedding. To attract views, he decides to broadcast a rope ritual related to a bride's mysterious suicide. Something goes amiss during the ritual, and Jia Wei and Shu Yi soon get drawn into a terrifying spiral of events. This edition includes making-of, music video, gallery and trailer.
