In the drama, Tavia Yeung plays Wai Lam, who, along with fellow Buddhist nun-in-training Wai Yu (Cilia Lok), suddenly finds herself in need of money when her nunnery's head nun falls ill. They're forced to find work as maids, ending up in the wealthy To household. There, Wai Lam meets and butts heads with the family's second son, Chun Fung (Kenneth Ma), seemingly a lazy lout who does nothing but fool around all day. After a chance meeting with a royal during a dire situation, Chun Fung becomes a magistrate, and with the help of Wai Lam, an expert martial artist, he begins to investigate the various cases of corruption and injustice in the town.
