Faye Wong's 1996 album Be Perfunctory is finally released as a complete album! Considering that at the time Faye Wong was pregnant and not going to renew her contract, Cinepoly Records decided not to release Be Perfunctory . Instead, songs from the album were released in four separate albums including 1997 EP Toy , 1997 EP Feel Free , 1997 compilation Faye For Sale and 2002 compilation Faye Best . In 2015, one of Faye Wong's fans purchased the songs' copyrights in order to release them together as a full-length album for the first time. Working with Albert Leung, Adrian Chan and C. Y. Kong, the pop diva continues the psychedelic trip-hop style of 1995 album Di-Dar in Be Perfunctory . The ten-track album includes the title song Be Perfunctory composed by Beyond bassist Steve Wong, the piano-driven Undercurrent, the relaxing Unbelievable and Date, the Cantonese version of Taiwan singer Emi Lee's Decision of Love.
