After inspiring an anime series in 2004 and a live-action film series in 2011, Oku Hiroya's hit manga Gantz has now been adapted into the animated feature film Gantz: O . Directed by Kawamura Yasushi, the CG-animation sci-fi action thriller is produced by Digital Frontier, the makers of Appleseed and the Gantz and Death Note live-action films. After dying, Kato wakes up in a strange room with a giant black orb in the center. He learns from the other people in the room that they get sent out by the orb on missions to fight alien creatures. Each mission can help players earn points that go towards redeeming their own lives back, if they don't die again in the process. On his first mission, Kato gets sent into the middle of a massive alien outbreak in Osaka.
