The 1989 Hong Kong drama The Wild Ones about institutionalized teenage delinquents cast a quartet of beautiful young actresses - Irene Wan and Happy Girls Loletta Lee, Fennie Yuen and Charine Chan - against type in girls gone wild roles. In the movie, one of them has violent tendencies, one runs away from home, two trade their bodies for money, and none of them seem to have any hope for a future - not until ardent social worker Sandy, played by Olivia Cheng in one of her last film roles, takes up a job at the girls' home as their guardian.
