Dreamworks has produced a successful Chinese kung fu film with the look (albeit in computer-animated form) and feel of a Shaw Brothers classic in Kung Fu Panda . The story follows genre conventions, with a bumbling kid (in this case, a panda) learning the way of martial arts to beat the bad guys and become a master, but the stunningly beautiful CG rendering of a stylish Chinese landscape, and the yin-yang balance of action, humor and heart is something that has never been achieved before. The film proved popular with audiences and critics alike, with acclaim showered upon both the animators and the impressive all-star vocal cast, which includes Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogen, and chopsocky legend Jackie Chan.
