Based on a true story, Dark Figure of Crime won Best Screenplay at the 39th Blue Dragon Film Awards for its thrilling and suspenseful plot. Ju Ji Hoon ( Along With the Gods ) takes his first antagonist role as a serial killer locked in an intense psychological face-off with a righteous detective played by Kim Yoon Seok ( 1987: When the Day Comes ). The two actors deliver impressive performances in the taut crime drama written by director Kim Tae Gyun ( Spring, Snow ) and Kwak Kyung Taek. During the investigation of a drug smuggling case, police detective Hyung Min (Kim Yoon Seok) meets informant Tae Oh (Ju Ji Hoon) who soon gets arrested for the murder of his girlfriend. Tae Oh asks Hyung Min to visit him in prison for more clues, and then confesses that he has killed a total of seven people. Though Hyung Min chooses to believe Tae Oh, there is no proof of the other murders. While Hyung Min tries to track down the unknown victims based on the unreliable testimony, the psychotic Tae Oh starts a tough mental game with the detective in order to be exculpated.
