Directed by Itaya Hiroyuki, the Edo-period drama His Master's Voice (a.k.a. Mou Ichido ) delves into the world of rakugo, the traditional Japanese art of comedic storytelling. Rakugo master Hayashiya Taihei plays Taihei who returns home in defeat after enduring hardships at work. Taihei's parents enlist formerly popular rakugo storyteller Teikichi (Nayuta Fukuzaki) for a performance in order to raise their distraught son's spirits. Cheered and inspired by the performance, Taihei decides to become Teikichi's apprentice and studies hard for the chance to go on stage. Through guiding Taihei, Teikichi also rediscovers the joy of rakugo himself.
