Directed by Liu Chia Hsin, Fan Fan was selected for the short film section of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival and won Best Film at Taiwan's Woman Make Waves Film Festival. Ambrose Liao stars as the eponymous heroine Fan Fan, an anthropology student who has trouble breaking things off with her ex-boyfriend, but she insists she doesn't care. Through her friend's arrangement, she temporarily takes up a job as a karaoke escort girl at a club. Observing those around her with detachment, Fan Fan just regards the experience as an experiment until she meets a client who breaks down the walls and opens her eyes to see herself differently.
