Based on a best-selling novel by Origami Kyoya, the film is directed by Hirakawa Yuichiro ( Erased ) and co-stars Yoshine Kyoko ( Kasane: Beauty and Fate ), Renbutsu Misako ( Fullmetal Alchemist ) and Sasaki Kuranosuke ( We Make Antiques! ). Blending suspense, romance and human drama, The Memory Eraser explores an urban legend about someone who can erase people's memories. University student Ryoichi (Yamada Ryosuke) is happily in love with Kyoko (Renbutsu Misako) and even proposes to her. However, the next day, he is no longer able to contact her. When he runs into Kyoko at a station a few days later, she does not remember him at all. Ryoichi suspects that Kyoko's memory loss may be related to the urban legend of the Memory Eraser. He recalls a similar incident happening in the past with his childhood friend Maki (Yoshine Kyoko). Working together with Maki and lawyer Takaharu (Sasaki Kuranosuke), an alumnus of his university, Ryoichi seeks to find out the truth behind Kyoko's memory loss.
