The 2004 Taiwan series The Outsiders starring Dylan Kuo and Ady An was one of the early classics of the idol drama genre. Fourteen years later, the memorable story about a young gangster's rough-and-tumble life and his star-crossed love with a sheltered school girl returns in a feature film adaptation of The Outsiders . Based on the novel Daisy by fallingheart, the youth film casts newcomers Charles Lin and Gingle Wang ( On Children ) in the leading roles. Ady An, Blue Lan, Michael Chang and Joelle Lu make special appearances as their original characters from the TV series. Raised in a strict family environment, Yen (Gingle Wang) is a model student and daughter who diligently goes to school and practices the piano according to her parents' wishes.
