Nan (River Huang) is a gentle soul who lives in the world of his favorite anime. He shares a fairly quietly life with his mother, his dementia-afflicted grandfather and his beloved Bobita. However, Nan's world of calm begins to change with the arrival of a problematic uncle, who moves in with them, and a girl whom he meets by chance. Nan falls madly for the girl, a fellow Bobita fan, and his infatuation pushes him to extreme and even murderous lengths to win her over. Taiwan director Chuang Ching Shen follows High Flash with the equally dense and ambitious sophomore effort The Magnificent Bobita . Going so far as to even create original animation and character merchandise for the film, Chuang explores the unraveling inner world and psyche of a young man on the edge, compellingly portrayed by award-winning actor River Huang ( Tracey , The Tag-Along ).
