A staple of Taiwan variety shows, Ken Lin makes his directing debut with the romantic comedy Acting Out of Love . The well-known actor and funnyman stars in the film alongside S.H.E's Ella Chen, singer Xin Lung and Teresa Daley. Wei Hong Ren (Ken Lin) dreams of becoming an actor but can only be an extra. He wants to prove himself to his girlfriend but gets dumped. Hong Ren's friends decide to help him regain his confidence through dating training. He has to practice by chatting with 100 women he doesn't know, and learn to observe and understand what it is that women really want. Through this process, he meets intense yet na ve producer Zheng (Xin Lung), smart and cute makeup artist Xiao Fang (Ella Chen), and independent-minded assistant director Hui Xin (Teresa Daley) who is uninterested in romance. Through these encounters, he realizes he's not the only one who still has much to learn in love.
