In 2019, this Johnny's classic leapt to the silver screen with Kitagawa as executive producer and Motoki Katsuhide ( Samurai Hustle ) as director. Shonentachi The Movie features SixTONES, Snow Man, Nishihata Daigo, Kaito Miyachika and other rising stars of Johnny's Jrs. The film was shot at the historic former Nara Juvenile Prison, one of Japan's five major prisons of the Meiji era. In the year 2012, a group of youths who have committed different crimes cross paths at the same juvenile prison. Boys of the Red Room and Blue Room see each other as rivals and often get into fights. Meanwhile, those in the Black Room stay on the sidelines. One day, a newcomer arrives; he keeps to himself and often writes in a diary. At the same time, a new warden also gets assigned to the prison, and he uses violence to assert control over his charges. The boys decide to unite against the warden.
