Category : EntertainmentOutrage Trilogy Boxset (Blu-ray) (English Subtitled) (Hong Kong Version)Price: USD28.99 After a trilogy of self-reflexive films that dealt with his role as an artist, actor-director-tough guy Kitano Takeshi returns to the genre that established him as a filmmaker. There is only violence and machination in the brutal yakuza world of the Outrage trilogy. Outrage (2010) The first film of the series, Outrage shocked and awed audiences at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, where it played in competition. Kitano is joined by an all-male cast featuring Shiina Kippei ( Shinobi ), Miura Tomokazu ( Adrift in Tokyo ), Kunimura Jun ( Blood and Bones ), and a scene-stealing Kase Ryo ( Letters From Iwo Jima ). In a casual conversation during a banquet, the Sanno-kai crime group chairman (Kitamura Soichiro) expresses to right-hand man Kato (Miura Tomokazu) his displeasure for the Ikemoto clan's connection to the Murase crew. To not violate the pact of brotherhood with the Murases, Ikemoto (Kunimura Jun) asks Otomo (Kitano Takeshi, as Beat Takeshi), the head of another Sanno-kai clan, to stir up trouble in the name of peace. This triggers a bloody gang war filled with ulterior motives, double crosses, and a long, long path of blood. Outrage Beyond (2012) Just when Kitano Takeshi thought he was out, they pull him back in. Two years after Outrage , the actor-director returns to the yakuza world once more for another round of all-out yakuza warfare. Once again, Kitano spins a labyrinth plot filled with conniving villains, double crosses, hidden loyalties, heavy dramatic stakes and a lot of blood shedding. Screened in the Competition Section at the Venice Film Festival, Outrage Beyond was another critical and commercial hit for Kitano. Outrage Beyond starts five years after the events of Outrage . Kato (Tomokazu Miura) and Ishihara (Kase Ryo) now rule the Sanno clan and plan to expand the gang beyond the crime world. However, anti-gang force detective Kataoka plans to stop them by playing the Sanno clan against the Hanabishi gang in the Kansai area. As a back-up plan, Kataoka also asks former Sanno member Otomo (Kitano Takeshi) to join forces with a former enemy to take on Kato and Ishihara. What follows is a Kanto-versus-Kansai yakuza war that will leave many dead and only one man standing. Outrage Coda (2017) The final chapter of the series launches a new gang war five years after the events of Outrage Beyond . Kitano returns as Otomo, who has been working in Korea for fixer Jang since the great battle between the Sanna clan and Hanabishi clan in Outrage Beyond . While on a business trip in Korea, Hanabishi clan member Hanada (Pierre Taki) kills an underling of Jang, triggering a conflict between the two crime groups. In the midst of this volatile situation, Otomo returns to Japan.Other products from YesAsia |
