The 1984 Hong Kong romance Everlasting Love is an early starring vehicle for a then 22-year-old Andy Lau. Directed by Michael Mak ( Island of Greed ) and produced by Johnny Mak, the classic melodrama co-stars Irene Wan, who was only 17 years old then. The supporting cast includes Loletta Lee and Ng Man Tat. After getting pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend, Pauline (Irene Wan) becomes an escort in order to earn money to take care of her son and family. One day, she impulsively stabs the man who betrayed her and ends up in jail. After getting released from prison, she meets Eric (Andy Lau) who comes from a rich family.
