Directed by Toshio Lee ( Detroit Metal City ), the amusingly titled comedy-drama When I Get Home, My Wife Always Pretends to be Dead is based on a viral Yahoo! Answers question posted by a man with a rather unique marital dilemma. Having already inspired a song, a book and a manga, the legendary story arrives on the silver screen with Yasuda Ken ( Gintama ) and Eikura Nana ( Library Wars ) as the married couple. Salaryman Jun (Yasuda Ken) comes home from work one day and finds his wife of three years, Chie (Eikura Nana), bleeding on the floor. As he looks on in shock, she breaks out into laughter. It turns out she was pretending to be dead. From that day on, Chie keeps playing dead. Every time Jun comes home, an increasingly elaborate death scenario awaits him. But he doesn't understand why. Is it loneliness? A cry for help? What is the secret behind Chie's strange behavior?
