Francis Ng and Julian Cheung team up as two very different police officers a coarse Hong Kong cop and a put-together Malaysian detective who are investigating various deaths connected to a pharmaceutical company and a mysterious crime group. Racing against time amid the complications of extraterritorial criminal investigation and a burgeoning public health crisis, The Leakers weaves an unpredictable web of crime and conspiracy involving the pharmaceutical industry. The fast-paced thriller co-stars Charmaine Sheh ( Line Walker ) as an investigative journalist, as well as Kent Cheng, Wilfred Lau, Chrissie Chau, Sam Lee, Halina Tam and Louis Cheung. A deadly epidemic breaks out in Malaysia, and pharmaceutical company Amanah develops a medicine that appears to be effective against the mosquito-borne disease. To curtail the epidemic, the medicine is quickly approved for mass distribution. In the midst of the disaster, a journalist (Sam Lee) and Teo Chun Loong, the eldest son of Amanah chairman Teo Jit Sin (Kent Cheng), are found dead. Inspector Lee Weng Kan (Julian Cheung) suspects that the two deaths are connected and tails Chun Loong's wife Peng (Chrissie Chau), who flees to Hong Kong. Grizzled cop David Wong (Francis Ng) is assigned to assist with finding Peng and Chairman Teo's missing second son Chun Yan (Wilfred Lau) in Hong Kong. Peng gives them the slip, only to turn up dead in an explosion. A group called The Leakers soon claims responsibility for Chun Yan's abduction and threatens to expose top secret information.
