Following Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters , Toho Animation's Godzilla trilogy continues with the second installment, City on the Edge of Battle . The sequel picks up where the first film left off after Haruo and his battalion encountered the original Godzilla. Having lost contact with Haruo's team, the main ship Aratrum plans to leave Earth if survivors cannot be located within 48 hours. Meanwhile, Haruo has been rescued by a girl named Miana from an indigenous tribe of human descendants. With the help of Miana and her twin sister Maina, Haruo finds the other crew members and acquires crucial information that may be the key to defeating Godzilla.
