Hong Kong Film Award-winning veteran Carrie Ng makes her directorial debut alongside Weng Xiu Lan in horror film Angel Whispers ! Set in a dilapidated apartment block, the film tells the story of a group of prostitutes, who each has her own reasons for ending up in the trade. Their landlady is Lai (Carrie Ng), a world-weary but kind woman who treats the young women as daughters. On the night of winter solstice celebrations, the girls have made plans to go to Lai's apartment for dinner. When Ping doesn't show up, the women venture into the halls to look for her. From this point on, what was supposed to be a celebratory night turns into a bloodbath.
