Mayuzuki Jun's manga After the Rain inspired both an anime series and a live-action feature in 2018. Directed by Nagai Akira ( If Cats Disappeared from the World ), the film stars Komatsu Nana ( My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday ) as a 17-year-old girl who lost her dream, and Oizumi Yo ( Tokyo Ghoul ) as a 45-year-old man who forgot his dream. These two lost souls find strength in each other in a delicate tale about unrequited love, recovering dreams and finding shelter from the rainy days of life. High school girl Tachibana Akira (Komatsu Nana) was originally a track and field athlete but she gets sidelined after an injury. One day, she goes to a family restaurant and meets by chance the manager Kondo Masami (Oizumi Yo), who speaks to her in a kind voice. She starts working part-time at the restaurant and develops a crush on Masami.
