On its final night before closure, a cinema shows its last movie. There is only person (Sherming Yiu) in the audience, and she's just there because her boyfriend (Simon Lui) is the film projectionist. After the movie starts, strange things begin to happen in the theater, which is suddenly filled with viewers... Directed by Billy Chung and adapted from a Simon Lui novel, the 1999 cult Hong Kong horror film Last Ghost Standing references many other classic horror films in its manic mix of ghosts and gags in a haunted theater. The film was shot in the historical building of the State Theatre cinema, which closed in 1997.
