Suda Masaki and Komatsu Nana, who previously co-starred in 2016's Drowning Love and Destruction Babies , pair up again in the romance film Ito inspired by singer-songwriter Nakajima Miyuki's classic song. Nakajima's frequently covered power ballad Ito was originally written in 1992 for a wedding and released in 1998 as her 35th single. Known for acclaimed works like 64 and Heaven's Story , Zeze Takahisa directs the moving romance, which is set in Hokkaido, Tokyo, Okinawa and Singapore, and spans the Heisei era. Ito revolves around protagonists Takahashi Ren (Suda Masaki) and Sonoda Aoi (Komatsu Nana) who were both born in 1989, the first year of the Heisei era. Over 18 years' time, the two meet, part and meet again as they grow from teenaged sweethearts to 31-year-old adults at the end of the Heisei era. Written by Hayashi Tamio ( The Eternal Zero ), the story conveys both the changes of the protagonists' relationship and the changes of the Heisei era. This edition comes with a 24-page booklet and a bonus DVD of special features including LiLiCo's interview with Suda Masaki and Komatsu Nana, deleted scenes, making-of, King's Brunch interview, event footage, making special video, trailers and TV spots.
