Directed by Yang Ju Nam, the 1958 classic The Bell Tower depicts the tragedy-filled life of a bellmaker who made the legendary bell of the Goryeong Temple. Heo Jang Kang ( Installment Secretary ) stars as the bellmaker while Moon Jung Suk ( Late Autumn ) plays three roles in the novel-based drama set in the Japanese occupation era during World War II. The story begins when bellmaker Seok Seung (Heo Jang Kang) narrates his past to neighbor Young Sil (Moon Jung Suk). To make the world's finest bell as promised to his lover Ok Bun (Moon Jung Suk), bellmaker Seok Seung studies bellmaking for ten years following Ok Bun's death. After his teacher's death, he meets a widow (Moon Jung Suk) who gives birth to his daughter before she passes away. Seok Seung eventually creates a perfect bell but loses his daughter. This edition comes with a documentary of director Yang Ju Nam.
