In 1992, youngster Chan Chun Yin (Wong Yau Nam, The Midnight After ) starts a difficult quest: to find Wong Ka Yan (Janelle Sing, Baby Blues ), a ticket taker at a local movie theater who he fell instantly in love with. Unfortunately, before Chun Yin could confess his love, Wong Ka Yan quit her job and left without a trace, leaving her name as the only clue for Chun Yin to find her. Determined, Chun Yin begins to call every Wong in the phone book in hopes of finding Wong Ka Yan. But instead of finding her, Chun Yin finds a host of other Wong Ka Yans, from an aged private detective (Wan Yeung Ming) to a guitar teacher (Pal Sin) to a cynical young woman (Karena Ng, Magic to Win ) who despite not being that Wong Ka Yan may end up being the person Chun Yin is really seeking. Co-starring Cantopop stars Gigi Leung and Hacken Lee, Wong Ka Yan features a clever and nostalgic romantic premise and fine location work on the rural outlying island of Peng Chau.
