Selected as one of the Ten Best Films of 2019 by the Korean Association of Film Critics, actor Kim Yoon Seok's directorial debut Another Child follows two ordinary families that are shaken by marital infidelity, and how they deal with the family crisis. Kim Yoon Seok portrays the father role in the drama, but the story's emphasis is on the mothers and daughters played by Yeom Jung Ah ( The Mimic ), Kim So Jin ( The Spy Gone North ), Kim Hye Jun ( Metamorphosis ) and Park Se Jin. Kim Hee Won ( Tazza: One Eyed Jack ), Lee Hee Joon ( Miss Baek ), Lee Jung Eun ( Parasite ) and Yeom Jung Ah's Sky Castle costar Kim Hye Yoon also appear in the film. Besides garnering acclaim for the actor-turned-director, the film also brought Kim Hye Jun the Best New Actress prize at the 40th Blue Dragon Awards. Juri (Kim Hye Jun) discovers her father (Kim Yoon Seok) is having a secret affair with a woman called Mi Hee (Kim So Jin), who is the mother of her classmate Yoon Ah (Park Se Jin). While Juri wants to make an issue of it, Yoon Ah backs off because she thinks it's a matter between the adults. Meanwhile, Juri's mother Young Joo (Yeom Jung Ah) also realizes her husband's affair. The two teens fight against each other, and then come together to handle the family issue.
