Chinese superstars Leon Lai and Faye Wong team up on the silver screen for the first time in the glossy romantic drama Leaving Me Loving You . The film is obviously a personal project for Leon, who came up with the film's story and serves as creative director alongside director Wilson Yip ( Bullet Over Summer ). Leon and Faye play former lovers brought together again after their bitter breakup, redeveloping a friendship that may turn into something more. The city of Shanghai, where the film was entirely shot, is beautifully captured by cinematographer Anthony Poon who shows the lights and sights of the city at their best. Xiaoyue (Faye Wong) is a professional party planner who has just landed a major project for a tycoon, while Zhou Qian (Leon Lai) is a kindhearted doctor who works out of his car for house calls. The two were once a happy couple, but they went through a bitter breakup that neither of them seems to have recovered from.
