Remembered for her impressive performances in works like Mother , Bunny Drop and Pacific Rim as a child, Ashida Mana stars in her first film in six years! The beloved young actress plays a teenage girl whose parents are cult followers in Under the Stars , based on the novel Hoshi no Ko by Akutagawa Prize-winning writer Imamura Natsuko. Directed by Omori Tatsushi ( Every Day a Good Day ), the coming-of-age story co-stars Nagase Masatoshi and Harada Tomoyo as the protagonist's parents, as well as Okada Masaki, Kora Kengo and Kuroki Haru. Chihiro (Ashida Mana) was brought up with love by parents who believe deeply in a strange religion that supposedly healed Chihiro's illness when she was a child. Now in her final year of middle school, she faces the changes and challenges of her unfavorable circumstances.
