One of Japan's most famous ghost stories, kabuki play Yotsuya Kaidan has been adapted into over 30 films. Now, kabuki star Ichikawa Ebizo ( Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai ) and director Miike Takashi reunite to bring a new twist to the familiar tale of jealousy and revenge in Over Your Dead Body , a terrifying horror drama about the thin line between art and life. Also credited with the film's concept, Ichikawa stars as Kosuke, a kabuki actor who has landed in the starring role of a new Yotsuya Kaidan stage adaptation. However, his relationship with his co-star girlfriend Miyuki (Shibasaki Kou) deteriorates rapidly during pre-production as ego, jealousy and infidelity creep their way in. Soon, real life and elements from the play begin to merge as blood begins to spill.
