Taiwan's the Chairman Band is back with their first album in two years (their eighth overall). This time, the band takes inspiration from the island's folk culture and religion to give a brand-new and uniquely local-flavored rock sound, featuring elements of traditional music like Beiguan, Luantan, and the Taiwanese kua-a-hi opera. Headed by the titular track The Gods Bless Taiwan, the album's main cuts also include the karaoke-friendly Taiwanese anthem Love Me You Will Die inspired by the hit film Monga , and the Facebook game-inspired Happy Farmer. Also notable is the album's brilliant cover courtesy of Grammy-winning designer Xiao Qing Yang.
