Based on a Yi Shu novel, Yon Fan's 1988 classic Last Romance stars Maggie Cheung and Cherie Chung as close friends whose lives and love change greatly over a decade's time. The wistful melodrama beautifully captures the magnetic presence of the two actresses as their characters grow from innocent schoolgirls to mature young women of divergent fates.
