Japanese writer Tsutsui Yasutaka's oft-adapted 1965 sci-fi novel The Girl Who Leapt Through Time graces the screen again in NTV's 2016 live-action TV series starring up-and-coming teen actress Kuroshima Yuina ( Hana Moyu ) and Sexy Zone member Kikuchi Fuma in their first leading roles. Kuroshima Yuina plays heroine Yoshiyama Mihane, a high school girl who acquires the ability to jump back in time after smelling a lavender scent in the school laboratory one day. With her newfound ability, she encounters various strange experiences, including the feeling of first love with classmate Fukamachi who is actually from the future. The youth drama also co-stars Takeuchi Ryoma ( Sumika Sumire ) and NEWS member Kato Shigeaki, who plays the students' homeroom teacher.
