Starting in 2017, the Heaven's Feel route of the Fate/stay night visual novel game is being adapted into a planned trilogy of animated films by director Sudo Tomonori and studio Ufotable, which also handled the Unlimited Blade Works series. The trilogy, which closes in on the truth of the Holy Grail War through the story of Emiya Shiro and Mato Sakura, begins with Presage Flower . Ten years after the Holy Grail War between Masters and Servants over the wish-granting Holy Grail, a new war breaks out in Fuyuki City. Emiya Shiro, whose late adoptive father participated in the previous war, decides to carry on his father's will and fight. At Shiro's side is a young girl named Mato Sakura whom he wants to protect. With the start of war, Fuyuki begins to change and murders occur throughout the city. Along with Saber, the Servant that he summons, Shiro forms an alliance with magi Tosaka Rin and joins the Holy Grail War.
