Directed by Taylor Wong ( Behind the Yellow Line ), Sentenced to Hang (1989) is based on a real-life kidnapping and murder case that shook Hong Kong in the 1960s. Dubbed the Three Wolves Case, the infamous crime also served as inspiration for the 1974 Shaw Brothers film Kidnap . Acclaimed actors Tony Leung Ka Fai and Kent Cheng and B-movie favorite Elvis Tsui star as the infamous trio of criminals whose eventual fates are revealed in the title. The film co-stars Kiki Sheung and Carrie Ng. Childhood friends Lee, Teng and Ma all toil at unrewarding jobs and have a lot of anger bottled up. After getting fired from his job, Lee decides to get revenge on his boss Wong. The three sworn brothers and their friend Ming work together to kidnap Wong's son, but he fights back and tries to escape. In the ensuing chaos, Lee and company kill Wong's son, but that doesn't stop them from collecting the ransom. The four manage to outwit the police and split the blood money, but the partnership falls apart when Ming, discontent with his share, tries to blackmail the others for more. When Lee, Teng and Ma try to eliminate Ming, he turns to the police. First Press comes with a postcard, only available while supplies last.
