The veteran Taiwan actress returns to the silver screen in Day Off , her first film in over 20 years. Directed by Fu Tien You ( My Egg Boy ), the nostalgic heartwarming drama reveals a slice of Taiwan life through the humble and meaningful work of a hairdresser. Fu Meng Po, Annie Chen, Shih Ming Shuai, Beatrice Fang, Chen Bo Lin, Austin Lin and YouTubers Ahan and Chien Chien also appear in the film. Day Off won Best Supporting Actress (Beatrice Fang) and Best Original Film Song at the 60th Golden Horse Film Awards. A-rui (Lu Shao Fen) has run a barbershop in Taichung for over 40 years. The old-fashioned shop is filled with stories and memories of those who have come and gone over the years. Though life isn't easy, A-rui always faces troubles with a tenacious spirit and never admits defeat. As time passes, her regulars have also grown old. One day she receives a call requesting an at-home haircut for a client who has moved far away and is too sick to leave home. Though everyone thinks it's not worth the trip, on this day A-rui hangs up a Closed today sign and sets off on a long journey to visit an old client.
