Andy Lau returns as a bomb disposal expert in the Hong Kong action film Shock Wave 2 , a standalone sequel to the 2017 hit. Andy takes on a new character in the action- and explosion-packed thriller, again directed by Herman Yau. Ron Ng and Philip Keung, who appeared in the first film, also return in new roles, while Sean Lau, Ni Ni and Tse Kwan Ho join the cast as key players in the story. A series of bombing incidents in Hong Kong cause panic throughout the city. Former bomb disposal officer Poon Sing Fung (Andy Lau) is found unconscious at the crime scene and deemed a top suspect. The police suspect that he may have ties with the terrorist group Vendetta. Faced with the police's pressure and accusations, Poon goes on the run to find the truth himself. He seeks the help of his former teammate Tung (Sean Lau).
