Directed by Lawrence Kan, the 2023 Hong Kong film In Broad Daylight is based on true events concerning shocking wrongdoings at a residential care home for persons with disabilities. Jennifer Yu plays a reporter who goes undercover at the home to expose the abuse happening in broad daylight. David Chiang plays a resident at the home. The soundtrack of In Broad Daylight is scored by erhu performer and composer Chu Wan Pin, who also worked on Lawrence Kan's 2022 series In Geek We Trust . The score was recorded at Forum Studios in Rome with live performance by Orchestra Italiana Del Cinema. Instead of using virtual instruments as common for Hong Kong film scores, all instruments in the score for In Broad Daylight are played by people. Chu Wan Pin also composed the film's theme song Sunlight Bleaching performed by Cath Wong.
