In 1971, Nikkatsu launched its iconic Roman Porno film series and then steadily churned out hundreds of softcore films throughout the 70s and 80s. The series elevated Japanese pink films to a new level of profile and popularity with both commercial audiences and critics. Marking the 50th anniversary of Roman Porno, the Roman Porno Now project consists of three films that reinterpret the genre for now. Kaneko Shunsuke ( Death Note ), who directed OL Yurizoku 19 Sai back in 1984, connects the past to the present with the erotic lesbian romance Yuri no Amaoto , the third work of the Roman Porno Now project. Hazuki (Komiya Kazuha), who is timid about love because of her past trauma, has a crush on her boss Shiori (Kazumi), who is troubled about her relationship with her husband.
