Benny Lau, the director of the nostalgic Hong Kong youth romances Wong Ka Yan and When Sun Meets Moon , takes on the thriller genre in the 2022 film Burning . Kevin Cheng ( G Storm ), Dada Chan ( A Murder Erased ) and Rebecca Zhu ( Line Walker ) star in this burning tale of fatal attraction and deception. Lam Yuen Chi (Kevin Cheng) is a doctor who has a happy, stable life with his wife (Rebecca Zhu) and five-year-old son. One day, he gets drunk at a friend's birthday gathering, blacks out and wakes up in bed with another woman. That's how he becomes involved with Fong Yu (Dada Chan). Yuen Chi feels sympathy for Fong Yu who suffers from trauma due to a previous abusive relationship, and treats her kindly. However, this only leads Yu to become increasingly obsessed with him. Determined to make Yuen Chi hers, she begins to snake her way into his household.
