One Cut of the Dead cinematographer Sone Takeshi transplants Akutagawa Ryunosuke's classic story Futari Komachi to Hong Kong in the fantasy romance Two Komachis . Hong Kong-based Japanese actor and TV host Izumi Soko stars as a grim reaper who falls for two women with the same name, portrayed by Hanna Chan ( Limbo ) and Eliz Lao ( Sisterhood ). Also co-starring Josie Ho ( Dream Home ), Two Komachis is shot completely in Hong Kong in Cantonese. Grim reaper Wang is supposed to take Komachi to the other side, but he gets too close to her. After the two grow intimate, Wang reveals his true identity and purpose. Terrified, Komachi lies that she is pregnant with his child. Wang shares that he could take the soul of another girl with the same name and birth year instead, so Komachi offers her friend as a replacement. But when Wang finds this other Komachi, he falls in love with her.
