Bai Baihe gambles on love in A City Called Macau directed by renowmed female director Li Shaohong ( Stolen Life ). Based on a novel by Yan Geling, the drama follows one woman's relationships with three gambling men who change her life in different ways. The protagonist's love and loss are backdropped by a decade of changes in Macau, the city of dreams and illusions. Wu Gang, Geng Le and Huang Jue co-star as the three men in the protagonist's life, while teen star Hu Xianxu plays her son. Hong Kong veterans Eric Tsang, Carina Lau and Chin Siu Ho also appear in the film. Mei Xiao'ou (Bai Baihe) goes all in for love, only to be used as a bargaining chip by her gambler ex-husband (Geng Le). After hitting rock bottom, a pregnant Mei finds momentary calm in Macau, where she works her way up to become a casino account manager. On the eve of Macau's handover to China, she meets the second man of her life, businessman Duan Kaiwen (Wu Gang). Though he provides her support and surprises, Mei's heart remains restless and insecure. Watching so many gamblers fall into despair gradually drives her into darkness as well. But then she meets sculptor Shi Qilan (Huang Jue) and dares to bet on love again.
