Documentary director Heather Tsui's first narrative feature is based on the true story of Lanyu's The Flying Fish troupe. Young boy Manawei (Si Pangoyod) lives in Lanyu with his grandmother and yearns for his father, who works on the main island of Taiwan, to come back home. New teacher You Zhong Xun (Huang Shang Ho, Thanatos, Drunk ) recently started at Manawei's school, and he hopes to record some achievements so he can transfer back to Taiwan soon. Since the school has registered for a national aboriginal dance competition to be held in Kaohshiung, Zhong Xun volunteers to be in charge of the activity. Manawei also joins the dance group because he wants to use the chance to see his father.
